The 5th edition of the International Triennial of Textile Arts Texpo Art-Dream, IASI (RO)

Textile Art International Triennial TexpoART is a major exhibition event that brings together in Iași works of artists from all continents. Under the auspices of National University of Arts “George Enescu” Iasi and in collaboration with Romanian Artists Union, Texpoart has become the largest and most prestigious event of its kind in the country.


In 1999 was opened the first Textile Art Biennial entitled Texpoart, at German Cultural Center in Iasi.


Since 2008, Texpoart has become an international event. The 2008 and 2011 editions registered participants from over 20 countries, who exhibited in Iasi artworks without technical or thematic restrictions. In 2014 were present contemporary artworks which involved various textile experiments of over 70 artists from 12 countries.


At the last edition, in 2017, more than 100 artists enrolled from 22 countries expressed the concept of HYBRID in the most diverse ways, from the initial ideea to the final artworks.
Textile Art International Triennial Texpoart is a certification and recognition of the arts education importance in Iași.


In essence, Texpoart movement started from a group of local artists, teachers at National University of Arts “George Enescu” Iaşi, members of Romanian Artists Union that led, through their work, to an international openness auspicious.


Texpoart event contributes to maintain a lively artistic climate according multicultural traditions of Iasi. The main aspect of its three previous editions is the freedom of expression of each artist. Thus, are accepted own concepts, the creative freedom offering a complete overview of contemporary textile art directions. Moreover, the exhibition is set up as a regular visual communication (every three years) between Romanian artists and those from abroad, between Europe and other continents. In time, the event has become a tradition, a reunion opportunity for exhibitors from previous editions, but also a springboard for new artists who have chosen textiles as form of expression.


At the fourth exhibition, Textile Art International Triennial TexpoART aims, as in its previous editions, to offer artists an opportunity to exhibit their artworks, without the inherent hierarchy implied by any prize award.
